Situated 5 minutes by car from the medieval city of carcassonne, the village of Trèbes is an island surrounded by the river Aude, the Orbiel, and the Canal du Midi (world heritage site).
In the earth of Cathar country, between the Mediterranean "garrigue" and the Black mountain, lakes and forests.
The center of the village is classed as an historic monument because of its 14th century church, and visitors can see the locks, our famous aqueduct by boat.
The Canal du Midi passes next to our magnificent vegetable gardens, the boat turn round by the famous "pont de la Rode"(the bridge like a wheel) and back to the village.
Trèbes is also at the crossroads of main roads, sea routes or walking or cycling, path going to the many attractions of our region.
